Gray Fox

Interesting Facts:
1. The Gray Fox can be found in some parts of Southern Canada and parts of
northern South America. It is most commonly found in the United States, in all
parts except Washington, and most of the mid-western states above Texas and
Oklahoma.
2. The Gray Fox has been known to climb trees to rest in or to find prey or other food.
3. Female Gray Foxes may eat a woodchuck and use its den after making it slightly
larger for the pups to be born.
4. Can live in almost any environment.
5. Can sound like a coyote with barking or howling.

Diet:
1. In the fall and summer it actually eats many crickets.
2. Woodchucks
4. Other small mammals and birds.
5. Needs less than only 4 percent of its body weight daily to stay healthy.

Shelter:
1. Generally lives in dens from rock, fallen trees, or dens dug into the ground.

Habitat:
1. Gray Foxes generally live in the wooded areas where there is a lot of brush. But with
humans invading in on habitat, they can live almost anywhere.
